The Executive Committee have released the Rules of Play for our 2024/25 season, please take a moment to review these rules as there have been several changes made.
Returning teams may now secure your spot by registering your “Intent to Return” for the 2024 – 2025 Season. Signup begins June 3 and closes July 1, 2024, after July 1st, teams who are on the waitlist will be allowed to register for one of the open spots (if any).
“Red” as most of us knew her passed away April 26, 2024 at the age of 86 years. Our thoughts and condolences go out to her husband, Wilf, their sons, Doyle, Dwayne, Dean and their families. A longtime member of the Calgary Ladies Curling Club, “Red” was inducted as a Life Member of our Club at the Christmas Banquet in 2014.
Honorary Lifetime Member: Cordella Schwengler — Member 1975 – 2014 Cordella, familiarly known as “Red”, became a member in 1975. She has made significant contributions to the Calgary Ladies Curling Club. She gave twelve years of executive service. Red served in the capacity of Vice, President and Past President. She also fulfilled the role of President for a second term. In addition, she served as a rep for Interclub, Calgary Ladies Open, and SACA ladies. Along with her contributions to CLCC she has served on bonspiel committees and volunteered for numerous events. Red has curled competitively at all levels – ladies, seniors and masters.
She has won several provincial titles and in 1994 was the Canadian Senior Champion. In addition to her stellar resume, she has achieved success at several major bonspiels. In 1994 she was awarded the very prestigious Ray Kingsmith Award for her outstanding contributions to women’s curling. Red has devoted many years to curling. Her numerous contributions spread further afield than CLCC in the areas of competition, administration and as a volunteer.
